Acer Aspire One is working again.

Well how bizzare.

Despite a morning of constant crashing, I've just tried my AA1 8 hrs later, and it's worked first time without crashing.


Strange but good. ;-)

    I had the same issue. Showing the desktop then rebooting over and over. I was in a quiet room and just happened to hear the fan clicking as if it was jammed up.
    In frustration, I threw my Acer onto the bed and called it a day. The next day everything was fine.

    I assumed that the fan was jamming up and it was a failsafe to reboot until cooling was established.

    I dont know how the fan jammed. Maybe it was cocked over on its shaft or maybe the motor was caught between 2 poles of the motor and needed a 'nudge'

    That might answer it.

    I decided that as I'm been doing lots of playing with configs I would do a re-install.

    I've installed Ubuntu to have a play. ;-)
